I am very pleased to announce that the ELSEVIER Research Impact Leaders Awards 2017 in Natural Sciences was given to University of Zielona Góra, where our Faculty of Physics and Astronomy and the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Econometrics contributed. In the assumption, the Awards recognize institutions outstanding in their fields for high-quality research, while also contributing to the international visibility of the institution and Polish research overall. The evaluation criteria reflect an increase in the number of publications in the most prestigious scientific journals, and showcase a high-level of international cooperation and impact, as measured by the Field-Weighted Citation Index.
  It is worth mentioning that, in the justification of the award, it was emphasized that “The publications in this discipline were quoted on average 2,12 times more often than the global average […] 15,4% of publications from the University of Zielona Góra in the Natural Sciences category were published among 10% of journals, which are considered the most influential in a given discipline.”
